Obituary for Ginger Maria Clifford

Ginger Maria (Clifford) Fischer, 54 of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, January 17, 2013 after fighting a long battle with cancer, with loved ones at her side.

She was born to Gary Roger Clifford, Sr. and June Beverly Wright on December 5, 1958 in Battle Creek. Ginger attended Battle Creek Central and Gull Lake High School. As a child she enjoyed playing in the swamp behind her home and caring for God’s creatures. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed everything from gardening and camping to fishing and boating. When she wasn’t busy doing arts and crafts she had a passion for photography. She especially enjoyed weekends on Lake Michigan.


She had a passion for photography and enjoyed weekends on Lake Michigan; Ginger was employed in a variety of customer service jobs ranging from Calhoun County Medical Facility, managed the West Point Theater and then West Point Party Store later employed by her brother-in-law at Gary’s Saw and Grinding.

She is survived by her husband, Fredrick Fischer, Jr.; mother, June Clifford; brother, Gary Clifford; sisters, Darleen Clifford, Melissa Clifford; nephew, Nicholas; nieces, Cassie & Kayla Obrien. She was preceded in death by her father Gary Clifford, Sr; in-laws, Fredrick & Christian Fischer and brother-in-law, Andrew Fischer.

A visitation will be held Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service from 2:00PM to 5:00PM with a prayer service starting at 2:30PM. A luncheon will immediately follow. Memorial contributions may be directed to Calhoun Co. Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Friends may send condolences or share a memory at baxterfuneral.com.
