Obituary for Harold Duane Weeder

Harold Duane  Weeder
Harold Duane Weeder, 92 1/2 of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2017 at Battle Creek Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Harold was born August 22, 1924 in Hillsdale, MI, to Lela Gay (Olmstead) Weeder and Melvin Jacob Weeder.
Harold attended Lakeview Schools and was captain of the football team. He served 4 years in the United States Army in World War II and retired after 47 years at the United Steel and Wire Co. on Fonda Street.
Harold loved all animals. Him and our mother raised Boston Terriers, then Schnauzers, and then moved to a farm and raised 25 horses. Harold loved all sports, he could kick a football while barefooted. He also loved to ice fish, garden, play cards and travel to the casino. He was a very hard worker and could build anything. After retiring he loved to travel with his 2nd love Grace Kelley and go to different casinos with his 3rd love Gladys Graham, both whom are deceased.
He is survived by his son, Gregory Duane Weeder of Sherwood and Daughter, Paula Kay (Candy) Weeder of Battle Creek.
Harold if proceeded in death by his first love Eleanor Louise (Reed) Weeder, his parents and all siblings. Sisters, Willow, Hazel, Susie and Gerry and two brothers, Rex and Max. Also proceeding him in death his beloved dog Buttons.
On behalf of the family we appreciate and send thank you's to all the staff for the love and care they showed our father during his stay at BCVAMC.
