Harry Ernest Russell, III, was born February 23, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to Mary E. and Harry E. Russell. He graduated from Cass Technical High School and served in the United States Army. He married Leigh Ledyard in April 1972, and they moved to Battle Creek. Harry was employed by Clark Equipment Company and Kellogg Company. He later founded/owned the company Russell & Associates.

Harry was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, served on the Vestry and served as Junior Warden for many years. He enjoyed home improvement projects, reading, boating, travel, playing poker with his friends, and spending time with family.

His survivors include wife, Leigh; daughters, Jessica (Bob) Gilbert, Kirsten (Troy) Ramos; sister-in-law, Donna Russell; sisters, Ruth Hughley, Virginia Zanardelli; brother, Steve (Pam) Russell, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary E. and Harry E. Russell and brother, George Russell.

Visitation will be held at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 11:00am-12:00 noon. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon with Reverend Paul Brisbane officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Church of the Resurrection, 2589 Capital Ave. SW Battle Creek, MI or the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, 2500 Watkins Rd., Battle Creek, MI.
