Hazel-Marie Joy Buckmaster, 67, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born on July 3, 1947.
Hazel was a 1965 graduate of Pennfield Schools and attended KCC. She was formerly the church secretary at Pennfield Assembly of God and Convis Union United Methodist Church.
Hazel is survived by her Husband of 49 years: Ronald Buckmaster of Battle Creek, MI; Mother: Dareda Marguerite (Bechtol) Benton of Battle Creek, MI; Daughter: Bethany (Jonathan) Doviak of Battle Creek, MI; Son: Benjamin (Misty) Buckmaster of Battle Creek, MI; Grandchildren: Corie, Robert, Ashely, James, Margaret, Benjamin and Beck.
Hazel enjoyed crafts, stamping, knitting, cooking, herb gardening and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. As a two time breast cancer survivor, she had been involved with volunteering at the cancer center. Hazel had been very active in the churches she had attended. She was currently a member of Victory Life Church.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday January 8, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Jim Augustine of Faith Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will take place in the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
Memorials tributes may be made to: the National Stroke Assoc. or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
