Remembering Uncle Hubert
I always remember him more as I when I was a child. He always had a Chevy truck, every time I saw one that was identical to his I had to check to make sure it was not him, hoping it was. He was always friendly as ever, he made Mr. Rogers seem like a grouch. When I was 3, we were in my Father's car, he was in the back seat with me, and I just could not get this piece of candy out of its plastic wrapper. I asked Uncle Hubert to open it for me, he did...... then he popped it in his mouth and ate it. I thought, "What a rotten Uncle!". He bought me a pack of Teaberry gum when we stopped at the Total gas station on Raymond Rd. I remember going to visit him when he lived on Wildwood, and sliding down the rail outside of his house going down the stairs. I ended up living in that house for a few years, I still felt like a visitor, wondering if Uncle Hubert would show up to visit. I cannot believe he is gone now, he will be missed. I always thought he would outlive me. I am going to miss you Uncle Hubert. I love you!
