Obituary for Jackie George Stanley

Jackie G. Stanley, age 68, of Battle Creek passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 surrounded by his family at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He was born December 11, 1944 the son of George Alfred Stanley and Dorothy Marie (Collins) Stanley. He was a 1963 graduate of Bellevue High School. After graduation he attended Kellogg Community College where he completed two years. Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1969 as a Sergeant E4. He was a life-long electrician employed with Clark Equipment for 16 years then retiring from General Motors after 24 years of employment. He was a member of the American Legion. Jack enjoyed camping, traveling especially to casinos, golfing, playing cards, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mona Stanley, of 42 years; sons, Kevin Stanley of New Jersey, and Peyton (Katy) Stanley; grandchildren, Nyla, Callen, Korbin; twin brother, David (Sue) Stanley; brother, Randall (Georgine) Stanley; sister, Carol (Sherry) Philo; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Jo King.

A memorial service will be held at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lifespan Visiting Nurses, 166 E. Goodale Ave. Battle Creek, MI.
