Condolences

Condolence From: Carl E. Powell, Jr.
Condolence: To the Family and Friends of my close friend James (Jimmy) Anthony Whitehead. He was our good neighborhood buddy through childhood, teenage, young adult and adulthood. Often our neighborhood and area friends from W.K. Junior High School would spend weekends playing Basketball at Kellogg Community College outdoors and then go to what used to be Burger Chef before Burger King moved next door. We also went with D. Craig Smith and Maurice Mitchell out of town on the Greyhound bus to various cities for Sport events and Shopping. We always had to eat at Bob's Big Boy. We played games as "Make Us Laugh" and I remember playing Card Games as Tonk and BlackJack. He idolized Bob James Basketball Star at BC Central High School later Basketball Referee. We also remember Jim liked Godfather's Pizza and Speed's Hamburgers off by Verona Elementary. I know "J. Dub" as I called him later played Pop Warner Baseball at Bailey Park.
These are the major memories among the millions of special moments we shared. I visited J. Dub every year I returned to Michigan on vacation to visit my Mom and Dad and good friends for 30 years after I graduated from Michigan State University and moved to Los Angeles, California. I most recently visited my Father before Thanksgiving 2014
and then again in March 2015. I watched the steady
progression and disease process occur for many years and saw Jimmy two days before I returned home to LA, which soon as I arrived I was notified by a reliable source that my lifelong friend had expired. I understand Craig and Jimmy did attend Religious Services toward the later years. For that
we all can have peace and power knowing that "Scatter/Scat/Scatterman" received the power and passion of knowing and having a personal relationship with God Almighty, Son Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, the Holly Spirit and Angels of Heaven. May Jimmy Whitehead Rest-In-Peace and in the Hearts of all of those who knew, loved and laughed with him. I wish the Family and Friends my Fondest Sincere Condolences. I will never have another lifetime friend like Jim again. However, I know his Energy and Spirit will remain intact undying, with Everlasting Life with our Creator with promises that we shall meet again in the hereafter. I know Jimmy's Spirit strong and that we shall surely meet again. Godspeed Scat. So this is not Goodbye Forever, just Goodbye for now my Friend(s).

Sincerely yours,

Carl E. Powell Jr. for Father Dr. Carl Powell, Mother Dr. Donna Powell,Sister D.Lisa Powell, and Cousin Michelle Ware Dancer: The Powell Family.

Condolence: To Jimmie's Family:
Jimmie was a great neighbor and made us feel very welcome when we moved in three years ago. We enjoyed his excitement of life and his spirit of friendliness. He will be missed. God Bless his family and friends at this most saddest of times. Remember all the good times with him as I know we will.
