Janiya Nyelle McGraw was granted her Angel wings on August 19, 2011. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Janiya had touched in some small way throughout her short yet very memorable life.

Janiya’s life would seem short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her exquisite smile, and jubilant spirit, brought so much joy to our family.

Although she was so tiny, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. She loved to rock and swing, play with her toys and most of all enjoyed the company of others. She was a very happy and healthy baby and will always be remembered for that gorgeous smile of hers. She was a very precious Gift from God and we are very thankful that we had the chance to share all our love with her.

Janiya will truly be missed and will forever be in our hearts. We know she is in a better place and would want for us to be strong for her and grateful that God blessed her family with the Best Gift we could ask for.

She is survived by her loving parents Michael McGraw and Jacqueline Robertson; grandparents, Selette Walker, Charles Wyrick, Peggy Simmons, Francine Robertson, Cleven Robertson, Richard Evans, Miguel Geronimo, Noloyiso Maat; great-grandparents, Susie Davis, Ernestine Washington, Clifton Washington Sr., Herman McGraw, Preston Walker, Johnnie Mae Walker; aunts, Sarah Robertson, LaWanna Simmons, Mariah McGraw, Lakisha McGraw, Tori McGraw; uncles, Ricardo Robertson, Duane Washington Sr., Mario Simmons, Antonio Simmons, Ryan McGraw, and Jordan McGraw.
