Jesse Curtis Henson Sr., 89, of Battle Creek, Michigan, died on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center "Hospice". He was born on November 17, 1926, the son of Jesse Marion Henson and Ethel May (Ackerson) Henson.
Jesse served in the Marines during WWII and the Airforce during the Korean Conflict. He was a purple heart recipient.He was a cab driver in the Battle Creek area for several years.
Jesse is survived by his Two Daughters, Lisa Taiclet of Auburn, WA, Vicki Norris of Lincoln, IL; Two Sons, Jesse (Ginette) Henson Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Steven Henson of Lincoln, IL; Three Step-Daughters, Judie (Darryl) DeFrates of Battle Creek, MI, Angie Lester of Battle Creek, MI, Tia (Michael) Justice of Laurel, Delaware; Step-Son, Chad Hansen of Cumberland, Maryland; Grandchildren, Jeffrey, Trisha, Christopher, Robert and Amanda; 3 Great Grandchildren, Aidan, Bailey and Hannah, 4 step great grandchildren, Patty and Alexis, Blaze and Emma ; Step-Grandchildren, Jesi, Tyler, Christian, and Nicole. He was preceded in death by his Wife of 26 years - Jenny Diane Henson of Battle Creek, Michigan, Father, Jesse Marion Henson, Mother, Ethel May Henson, Brothers, Bud Henson and Marion Henson, Sister, Viola Killiman.
Jesse enjoyed video games, dancing, music and loved his dogs "Chance" & "Hunter".He played lead guitar in a country band in Renton, Washington. He enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and wrestling on TV.He was a member of the American Legion Post #298..
