Jessie McKinley Sr., 71, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born on April 17, 1944, the son of James Edward McKinley and Thelma (Walker) Travis.
Jessie is survived by his children, Shondra McKinley, Deborah McKinley, Theresa Browley, Jacqueline Willis, Michelle McKinley, Jessie (Benjamin) McKinley Jr., Cory (Chris) McKinley, Davion McKinley; 16 Grandchildren; 18 Great-Grandchildren; three brothers, James Edward McKinley, III, Henry D. (Daisy) McKinley, Harold (Vicki) Tucker; four sisters, Mary Allen, Delores Sanders, Gloria (John) Bostick, Phyllis (Richard) Bailey; honorary sons, Sherman and Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents and Great-grandson, Ayden.
Jessie loved to go fishing and have big cookouts. He enjoyed cooking for the whole neighborhood. He loved to spend time with his family and he will be truly missed.
A visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on October 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
