Obituary for Joseph David Albert

Joseph David Albert, 81, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his home. He was born on January 28, 1934, the son of Charles Wellington Albert and Dorothy Kathleen (Aiken) Albert.
Joseph was a 1952 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. He was an airplane mechanic for Northwest Airlines for several years and served in the Air National Guard for 27 1/2 years until retiring in 1990. In retirement he was worked part time at Pennfield Schools in food service.
Joseph is survived by his Wife of 36 years: Shane MacKay (Bordine) Albert of Battle Creek, MI; Son: John (Jill) Albert of Climax, MI; Grandson: Aaron (Kelli) Newberry of Hastings, MI; Great-grandchildren: Aaron, Andrew & Kennedy Newberry; Sisters: Dorothy (Clifford) Byers of Bellevue, MI, Carol (Chris) Brown of Delton, MI and June Miller of Delton, MI; Brother: James Albert of Delton, MI. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Step-daughter: Wende Lusk; Sisters: Jean Wilcox and Margaret Finley; Brothers: William Albert and Charles Albert; Former Spouse: Rosanna Townsend.
Joseph was an avid sports fan and played baseball most of his life. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Canada. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Battle Creek and formerly served as a Sunday School teacher, served on the Board and played in the softball league at the Hastings Church of the Nazarene.
Visitation will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, on Friday August 21, 2015 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.
A funeral service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 12866 Beadle Lake Road, on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Ryan Wolford officiating.
Interment will take place in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
