Josie Mae (Green) Williams, 91, of Battle Creek, MI, died, Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Manor of Battle Creek. She was born February 11, 1921 in Greenwood, MS the daughter of Henry J. Green Sr. and Annie Mae (Jane) Green.
Josie was a graduate of the Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, TN. She married her late Husband of 45 Years: Johnny Williams and moved to Detroit where she resided until Johnny died in 1990.
Josie is survived by Sister: Ozella Marshall of Battle Creek, MI; Niece: Patricia Ann Pointer of Kalamazoo, MI; Great Nephews: Adonis Pointer, Andre Pointer and Alonzo Pointer; A host of Great-Great Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband; her Parents; her Sister: Delores Green; Brother: Henry J. Green Jr.; Brother-In-Law: Lonnie Marshall; Niece: Diane Bradford.
Josie enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Battle Creek Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she served in the Women's Ministry, order supplies for potluck dinners and worked on bags for the children.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
