J.W. Washam, 72, of Battle Creek, MI, died, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born August 20, 1940 the son of Jimmy T. Washam and Freida (Battuo) Washam.
J.W. served in the US Army until 1963. He was employed at Clark Equipment and then United Steel & Wire until retiring in 2003.
J.W. is survived by Wife of 53 years: Lynda Washam of Battle Creek, MI; Sons: James Byron Washam of Battle Creek, MI and Mike Washam of Battle Creek, MI; Daughter: Kristen (Bill) Edwards of Battle Creek, MI; 6 Grandchildren: Sarah, Kimberly, Brent, Bobby, Ryan and Danielle and 6 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Sisters: Mary Simmons, Leoda Baker and Cleona Stafford.
J.W. enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Monday, December 3, 2012 5 PM to 7 PM.
A private family service will be held.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Unit.
