Lawrence Charles Odette Sr., 83, of Dowling, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born on June 12, 1932, and lived most of his life in Battle Creek, the son of Joseph Charles Odette and Anna Alice (Coles) Odette.
Larry was a wonderful father. He was a Boy Scout leader and later went on to coach a softball league for Christ United Methodist Church in Urbandale.
Larry is survived by his two Daughters, Autumn Kay Odette of Battle Creek, MI and Susan Marie Erwin of TX; two Sons, Steve (Becky) Odette of Battle Creek, MI and Lawrence Charles (Maggie) Odette Jr of UT.; 15 Grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Marvin Bliss and Mark Bliss; Brother, Edwin C Odette; Sister, Rosalie Cates and a host of other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Carol Lorraine Sherburn, second wife, Marietta Odette, and special friend Jan Murphy.
Larry loved to go camping. He was quite an outdoorsman and he enjoyed bird watching and riding his bike around Fort Custer and town until very recently. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved to watch the Detroit Lions and Tigers. Larry adored his family and especially enjoyed the company of his great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service , 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 1:00 pm.
Interment will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
