Leslie never missed a beat when it came to reaching out & comforting others! Leslie wrote this peom to my son in 1993 because we found out he had a brain stem tumor & had to have surgery. He had the longest, tighest most beautiful locks of curls that we cut off before surgery so he could get used to no hair. She made everything about him & how handsome he looked with his new hair cut, we laughed, played, had cake & played some more. My son wasn't quite 3 yet & he knew what was fix'n to happen with surgery, but in her kind, loving, caring, soothing special way about her...Leslie made everything okay & comforting. She had faith & never gave up, so neither did I! In June, my son will be 25 & everytime I talked with Les on Facebook, she always asked how her Nathan Paul was doing?!? I will forever keep Leslie & this poem close to my heart because she was family to me!
I Love You Mel, Peg, Laurel (My Family) & all of ya'lls family
