Lloyd Francis Evans, age 89, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014. He was born May 21, 1924 in Leslie, MI the son of Harry and Mabel (Enos) Evans. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy. He was in WWII where he was stationed in the S. Pacific as well as the Korean conflict. Lloyd married Myrtle Lane January 13, 1951 in Parma, MI. He was employed with Post Cereal Company for 38 years where he was a member of the 25 year club. Lloyd was also a bus driver for Lakeview and Harper Creek Public Schools for many years. He loved gardening; supplying most everyone with fruits and vegetables from his beautiful garden, canning, and picking berries. He was a very generous and kind hearted person. Lloyd’s pride was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren but he had a special fondness for his dogs Duke and Jennifur.

He is survived by his former wife, Myrtle Evans; children, Nancy (Kelley) Allen, Teresa (Bill) Walters, William L. Evans, Cary A. Evans; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen Jordon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glen and Burford Evans.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place at a later date.
