Lyle Rae Hill, age 84, of Battle Creek, MI passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was born on August 4, 1929 to the late Vinton Rae Hill and Myrtle Hill (Culp). He owned his own fencing company for 45 years. Lyle loved to make jewelry and fix things. He loved to fish, garden and telling stories about his father working on the railroad. He loved to go out to breakfast and he loved stuffed French toast with fruit. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and being around his family. He always had some good stories to tell about his childhood.

He married Ella Hill in 1992 until present (she survives). Ella was the light of his life and they were so happy. Lyle had 3 children; son, Michael Rae (Tina) Hill; daughters, Cathy Bowser and Carrie Foote. He also had 2 sisters, Harriet Dean of Niles, MI, Sally Hill of Coldwater; brother, Fred Hill of Jackson; 6 step-children, Jeff (Julie) Smith, John (Mike) Smith, Brenda (Chuck) Reed, JoEllen (Tom) Ellis, Stephanie (Brian) Pacillo, Valerie (Tim) Rowe; 19 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He also had many friends at CentraCare Health where he would attend 3 days a week.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 14, 2014. A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to CentraCare Health of Battle Creek.
