always a mom

i first met marlene when she was still married to bill and teresa was still in highschool,i played softball with kerry and we were good friends.marlene was a mom to whoever the kids brought over, and beleive you me there was plenty, you were always fed, always could stay the night, she would play dice, yatzee, darts, cards with us till the wee hours of the morning,we were just glad bill could sleep tru anything..at the time my son [Cory} was @ 6 or 7 ,and he thought the world revolved around marlene, and she adored him,one day he was in her backyard throwing walnuts and on went over the fence and broke the neighbors window,he was so scared, came in screming and cryin,of coarse marlene[THE MOM} took care of the situation, cuz afterall it was an accident. then i lost contact with marlene and her family,i had married and moved away, about 2 years before kerry left us i was welcomed back into the household like i had never left.i would try to go over once or twica a week and help marlene do whatever i could to help with kerry and try to make marlenes life a bit less hectic, and as usual she {THE MOM}always had my favorite foods,my favorite beverage, and i always had my own bed again.. she was definatly a strong woman but so small and frail looking, but of a very intricate design, and she seemed to put up with so much sh-- and stress from other people and lifes ongoing problems, but she always seem to be able to carry the load,remarkable..well she doesn't have to any more, now shes going to be with kerry again,i never thought they could be apart for long,so as usual marlene{THE MOM}is still doing the mom thing...she will never be forgotten in my heart
