Mary Arlene Carr, 73, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on January 2, 1944, the daughter of Wilbert Bouligny Sr. and Oliva (Walker) Williams.
Mary graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA with a Master's Degree in Education. She had a passion for people and she began her teaching career down in Louisiana. She moved her family to Battle Creek, MI in 1987 and taught Battle Creek Public School System.
Mary is survived by her two Sons, James Bondrick Carr of Battle Creek, MI and Jamian Tradawn (Lois) Carr of Springfield, MI; five Grandchildren; five Sisters, Judy Moses of Baton Rouge, LA, Cynthia Jones of Baton Rouge, LA, Olivia Harris of Baton Rouge, LA, Rhonda Dumer of Kenner, LA, Linda (Chester) Mazone of Marinqouin, LA, and Viola Carr-Phillips of Battle Creek, MI; two Brothers, Edward Williams, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, and Darrell Williams of Baton Rouge, LA; Uncle, Henry Goudeau of Baton Rouge, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Larry Williams, Kenneth Williams, and Donald Williams.
She had a bird named "Pretty girl," whom she adored.Mary also loved the arts, house plants and loved to collect elephants and bells. She had shoes galore; loved her shoes and had one for any occasion. Mary especially loved shopping with her granddaughter, Dominique and they were very close.
A memorial service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11:00 am.
