Melissa Lynn Gibson, 51, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. She was born in Battle Creek on March 3, 1963 to William Gayle and Pauline Mattie (Berry) Gibson.

Melissa graduated from Springfield High School in 1981. After High School, she attended KCC and obtained her Medical Assistant Certificate. Melissa enjoyed helping people and spending time with her family and her special friends, Al and Barb Marshall, Opal and Rita.

Melissa is survived by her daughter Nickole Marie (Zachary) Halsey and her son Sidney Lewis Carroll both of Battle Creek. Melissa is also survived by sisters, Susan E. (Robert N.) Parker and Peggy (Lonnie) Nelson both of Battle Creek, several nieces and nephews and her grandchildren, Westyn and Oaklynn Halsey.

Melissa was preceded in death her parents William Gayle Gibson on April 23, 2007, Pauline Mattie Gibson on May 17, 2014 and a brother William Gayle Gibson Jr. on November 13, 1999.
