Melvin Roy Edwards 57 of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Friday July 25, 2014 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born on August 5, 1956 in Spring City Tennessee the son of Harvey Junior and Imogene (Price) Edwards.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 38 years Lynne Ann (Weever) Edwards of Battle Creek, MI; Son Jamie Lynn Edwards; 2 adopted granddaughters Alexis Marie Edwards and Autumn Nichole Edwards; 2 grandson Jaleal Devon Edwards; and Melvin Roy Edwards III; Granddaughter Jasmine Marie Ehret-Edwards and 4 other step grand children. He was preceded in death by his Father (2006); Mother (2006); Son Melvin Roy Edwards Jr (2008); Brother William Lee Edwards (1953); Brother Charles Junior Edwards (2005);
His family and music was his life. He was his happiest on stage with a guitar in his hand playing and singing his music. He got great joy spreading his music from the handicap services at Morgan Road Nazarene Church to the Benefit shows he did with Jimmy Lee Deen for Cancer Awareness or to raise money for a murdered child. He played all over with Dirt Road Band and Bad News Bands.
