Michelle “Mickey” (Moore) Forshey, 61, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Bronson Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, MI.
A lifelong resident of Battle Creek, Mickey was born July 25, 1954 to Shirley (Yeakey) and R. Paul Moore. She graduated from Pennfield High School in 1972. Over the years she worked at Post and Kellogg and most recently as a CNA. She loved spending time with her family, hot summer days on St. Mary’s Lake, and traveling to Florida for the winter. She took great pride in gardening and loved planting flowers around her home. She was a genuine person who loved to have fun and lived life to the fullest.
Mickey was preceded in death by her father, R. Paul Moore. She is survived by her son Marvin (Marissa) Voke III, sisters Candy (Richard) Wade of Texas, Paulette (Gary) Walker, Melinda (Ruben) Cervantes, and Christine (Dan) O’Neill all of Battle Creek; brother R. Paul (Jen) Moore, Jr. of Florida, and special friend Scotty. She had five beloved grandchildren Madison Klemmer, Mariyanna, Maxwell, Marley and Malachi Voke, all of Battle Creek. She had 10 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews, too.
A memorial for family and close friends is being planned for the summer of 2016. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that you make a monetary donation in her name to the Cancer Care Medication Fund.
