Mildred Jean Holland-Banks, 74, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 20, 1944, the daughter of Lenanza Holland and Rosie Lee Washington-Holland.
Mildred was a faithful and active member at the Battle Creek Seventh-Day Adventist Tabernacle. She served as a deaconess for many years. Mildred was not only a mother and care taker to her own but was a foster parent to many little ones within her community. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and working in her garden soaking in the sunshine. Mildred liked to stay busy with a craft or decorating the home. Her warm spirit and infectious smile will be cherished by all those she leaves behind.
Mildred is survived by her Husband of 47 years - Roosevelt J. Banks; three Daughters, Annette Rene Holland, LaTonia Teresa Holland, Kimberley Nicole (Carlos) Holland-Johnson; two Sons, Bernard Holland, Marlon Romel Holland; 16 Grandchildren, many Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren, as well as a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation was held at the Battle Creek Seventh-Day Adventist Tabernacle, 620 N. Washington Ave., on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon followed immediately by a funeral service starting at 12:00 noon.
