Monika M. Thornton, age 52, of Kalamazoo, MI, went to be the Lord Friday, April 18, 2014. She was born September 17, 1961 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Trudy and Horst Wissner. In 1979 she graduated from Hastings High School. After high school she attended KVCC. Monika enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, camping, being at the lake, laying in the sun on the beach and her animals. Monika loved to laugh and seemed to be the life of the party at work. Most of all she loved making memories with her family, especially with her kids.

He is survived by his loving husband, Timothy of 20 years; children, Brian M. Anderson, DeAnna M. Hill, Joshua T. Thornton; father, Horst Wissner; grandchild, Noah Michael Anderson; siblings, Joanie (Donnie) Anderson, Michael (Susan) Wissner; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.
