Nicky (Nick) R. Adkins passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Bronson Battle Creek after battling multiple illnesses for many years. Nick was a long time member of B.A.S.S. and participated in fishing tournaments with Battle Creek Bass Casters for many years. He helped co-found Calhoun County Bass Club with long time friend Gary Cantwell in the 1980’s. Nick was also an avid pool player and was active in A.P.A., Valley and Marshall Pool Leagues.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shelia (Hawkins) Adkins of Marshall, MI; sons, Nicky A. Adkins of Battle Creek, Ray Topp of Arkansas, William Hawkins and Robert Denney of Marshall; daughters, Gerrie Adkins and Kylie Adkins of Marshall, Mary Pierce of Battle Creek and Amanda (Topp) Baker of Kalamazoo; parents, Geraldine (Craft) and Arthur Burkwalt of Marshall; Denver Adkins of Bradenton, FL; sisters, Shawn Carney and Carolyn Sue Barkwalt of Marshall, Fran McElhenie of Battle Creek; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
