Richard Delos Dykman, 87, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. He was born on January 29, 1929, the son of Donald Richard Dykman and Olga (Allen) Dykman.
Richard was a 1952 graduate of the University of Michigan. He was then employed at the Baltimore Ohio Railroad, served on the Oakland County Drain Commission and then retired from Grand Trunk Western & Canadian National Railroads after 31 years of service.
Richard is survived by his Wife of 65 years: Elna Darline (Willett) Dykman of Battle Creek, MI; Daughters: Elaine (Gary) Fredrick of New Brighton, MN, Karen (Randy) Lang of East Leroy, MI and Julie (Brian) Duda of Utica, MI; 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents and his Daughter: Catherine Geier.
Richard enjoyed working around his property, moving trees, the outdoors, laughing and loved spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed watching trains with his grandson David and playing Yahtzee with his grandson Richard. He was a member of the Grand Trunk Historic Society and formerly attended Lakeview Baptist Church.
