Richard Clyde Ward, 62, of Battle Creek, MI, died, Monday, March 4, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek after a sudden illness. He was born February 27, 1951 the son of Clyde S. Ward and Beatrice A. (Rose) Ward.
Richard was a 1969 graduate of Lakeview High School. He was employed at Cut-Rate for many years and then at II Stanley for the past 23 years.
Richard married Kathy Lynn (Carrel) Ward in Battle Creek on October 15, 1977; she sadly preceded him in death on November 30, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Richard leaves behind his loving Daughter: Chelsae E. Ward; Sister: Nancy M. (Ward) Carrel; Half Brother: David Gibbs; Niece: Valerie G. (Carrel) Daugherty; Nephew: Richard M. Carrel.
Richard was an avid Nascar fan and sports fan. He loved spending time with his family and traveling to Daytona Beach, Florida.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Friday, March 8, 2013, 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
A funeral service will be held at the First Wesleyan Church, 14425 S. Helmer Road on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2 PM.
