Ricky Laverne Carl passed away peacefully on April 17, 2013. He was born March 19, 1958, the son of Darlene (Chapin) and Thomas Carl. He was a 1976 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School where he played baseball, football and wrestled. After high school Ricky enlisted in October of 1976, serving in the United States Navy as a 3rd class Torpedo man Mate. On November 5, 1977, he married the love of his life Kathy. He was honorably discharged in October of 1980. Ricky was employed with various Auto Body Shops, Best Way Disposal, and CNL Dairy.

He enjoyed Detroit sports, fishing, hunting, camping at Deer Camp and “the lot”. When he wasn’t enjoying his hobbies, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, friends, and his wife. He had a special love for classic vehicles and taking his beagles for walks in the woods.

Rickyy will be greatly missed by those who lived and cared. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy (Iler) Carl; daughters, Melissa (James) Fields, Ashley Carl; son, Joshua Carl; parents; sister, Renee (Richard) Reeves; grandchildren, Tory, Erick, Jasmine, James Fields; grandmother, Pauline Carl; brother-in-laws, Jeff (Peggy) Iler, Steve (Christie) Iler; mother-in-law, Jean Iler; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
