Robert James Robinson, 73, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at home. He was born on November 18, 1943, the son of James Robinson and Robbie Mary White.
Jimmy graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1963. He worked for United Steel and Wire for over 30 years before his retirement from the company. He also worked at Walmart for over 20 years.
Jimmy is survived by his four Daughters, Dana Robinson, Domonique Ray, Leah (Michael) Jackson, and Ebony McKinney; Grandchildren, Erica Robinson, Paris(17), Tyshon(16), Dayton(15), Dakota(13), and Asia(12) Ray, Mikayla(11), Michael Jr.(6), Mikai(5) Jackson; four Sisters, Elizabeth Geiger, Josephine Jett, Joanne Lewis, and Darlene Garrett. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Brother, Samuel Robinson, and Sister, Beatrice Richardson.
Jimmy was a professional bike rider and got great satisfaction from his marathons. He was an avid music listener and he was very enthusiastic about Jazz. He also had a passion for photography and took a few courses on it. Jimmy was very athletic throughout his life and enjoyed getting out and being active. Above all else his children were his world and he absolutely adored time with his grandchildren.
