Russell Wayne Cowham, 73, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at home. He was born on May 6, 1944, the son of Winfield Wayne and Ilah B. (Chesley) Cowham.
Russ graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. He Joined the US Navy in 1966 and served faithfully. After his discharge from the Navy he went on to Kellogg Community College where he received his Associates degree. He worked as a journeyman and electrician until his retirement from the City of Battle Creek Airport.
Russ is survived by his Wife of 50 years - Katherine Marie (Etheridge) Cowham; Daughter, Heather Firestine; Sons, Brent (Judy) Cowham, and Erin Cowham; Grandchildren, Ericka (Jim) Haley, Zach, Emily, and Allison; Great-grandson, Sammy and Great-grandson Nathaniel on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bonnie Kirkbride.
Russ enjoyed the great outdoors; He loved to go fishing, hunting, and watching sports when he was inside. Above all else Russ adored his family and spending all of his time with them. He was a wonderful man with a big heart and he will be greatly missed by all those he leaves behind.
