Obituary for Scott Carlson Miller

Scott Carlson  Miller
Scott Carlson Miller, 66 of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on April 19, 2015. He was born August 5, 1948 in Three Rivers, Michigan, the son of James Stanley Miller and Edith Alieen (Abshire) Miller.

Scott graduated from Battle Creek Central. He worked locally for the family business (Miller Brothers Amoco Service Station’s), Kellogg’s, the Battle Creek Federal Center, Battle Creek Township Police Department, Pennfield Township Police Department, and as a contractor for the Department of Homeland Security over his years. He retired in August of 2014.

Scott married schoolmate and one true love Rhonda May (Wood) Miller on June 17, 1967, whom survives. Also surviving are son Jeffrey C Miller, daughter April S (Samuel) Rastoskey, grandchildren, Samantha (JJ) Rastoskey Yarde, Nickolas Rastoskey, and Joshua Rastoskey, great granddaughter to be Lyla Sky Yarde, father James Stanley Miller, and brothers Vincent J Miller, Michael G Miller, and Mitchel J Miller. He was preceded in death by his mother Edith Alieen (Abshire) Miller.

Scott was a member of the Battle Creek Central Varsity Basketball team, and as an adult he was an avid golfer and member of Riverside Country/Golf Club for many years. He also loved and played softball, tennis, ping pong, racquet ball, pickle ball, bridge and numerous other card and family games. He was our Triple “A” personality and friend to many.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Riverside Golf Course, 245 E Columbia Ave, Battle Creek, Michigan on Sunday April 26, 2015 from Noon to 6pm. In lieu of Flowers, memorial tributes may be made to his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s college fund c/o Rhonda Miller or to Heartland Hospice.
