Shirley Ann Stokes, 61, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. She was born on February 14, 1954, the daughter of Lester Clay Stokes and Essie (Holmes) Stokes.
Shirley was a member of the Church of Christ.
Shirley is survived by her two sons, Anthony Vashonn (Jennifer) Stokes and Larry (Caroline) Stokes; two sisters, Patricia (Andrew) Figgures, and Barbara Stokes; brother, Lester Stokes, Jr.; fiance, Charles Smith; three sister-in-laws, Debra Smith-Love, Tonie Smith-Phillips, and Karen Smith; a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family.
Shirley was the life of any party. She enjoyed singing, dancing and having fun. She brightened any room she walked into. Shirley enjoyed playing cards, playing baseball, swimming and running track. She had a big heart full of love for her family and friends.
