Obituary for Vicki Sue Cameron

Vicki Sue Cameron
Vicki Sue Cameron (Miller) of Battle Creek, passed away on Wednesday October 14, 2015 at age 50 after a valiant battle with brain cancer. She left behind two daughters, Danielle and Lindsey Shive. Vicki was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, stage IV, back in May. During her battle she was still the same life loving, stubborn woman that she was before being diagnosed. She enjoyed every single moment with her loved ones close by and fought until the very end. It was her strong will to live and the abundance of love, support, and prayers from family, friends, coworkers and all other supporters, who carried her through her last 4 ½ months of hospital visits, surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy.
Vicki was born on August 11, 1965 in Battle Creek, to her mother and father Lawrence and Ondrae Miller, whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her two daughters, her three siblings, sister Rhonda (Stephen) Horton and brothers Ronald (Dianne) Miller and Rick Miller, close friend Thomas Cameron, as well as aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She loved so many things- personal fitness, Celine Dion, eighties tunes, shopping and vacationing, but there was no question in what she loved doing most; spending time with her family and friends. Whether during the very occasional family and friend get-togethers, girl outings with her daughters or at the family cabin in Wellston, MI, she was always up for a good time. Vicki was a very kind hearted, social person. She could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and wherever there was laughter, she was never far behind. Her contagious smile would light up a room. She was the true definition of happy. Even throughout her time in the hospital during her battle, she would never miss an opportunity to make you smile… or ask you to bring her a Big Mac. Either way, you rarely had time to feel sad when visiting her.
There is no doubt that Vicki shared her last memories with those that she loved most and that her time here with us ended too soon. Her wishes were to be cremated. She will be shared amongst six urns- one for each of her daughters, one for each of her siblings, and one to accompany her daughters during their prolonged travels out West. Family has chosen to forgo a funeral and selected a more fitting service for Vicki, a Celebration of Life. Her Celebration of Life will be held at the Riverside Country Club on November 7th from 5pm to 9pm. All of Vicki’s family, friends, coworkers and supporters are welcome to attend and celebrate with us, such a wonderful and deeply loved woman. Vicki truly was “fit for the fight” all the way up until the day God called her home.
Memorial donations may be made to Bronson at Home Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, MI.
