David and Lois Stewart

Condolences and Blessings to the family and friends of Virginia Hamlin. As fellow servants of God in the land of India, my wife, Lois, and I were often encouraged and blessed by the cheerful and faithful service of this dear friend and woman of God. Virginia was a most dependable and devoted servant of the Lord Jesus in India and wherever she went. She was loved and admired by the Indians and by all the missionaries that served with her. Her servant's heart was evident to all and something to be emulated by all who knew Virginia. When Virginia was shoved by a purse snatcher in New Delhi she suffered serious head injuries that required surgery. I was serving as Field Chairman for India at the time and rushed by airplane to Delhi immediately to see her in the hospital, reaching there about 9:30 in the night to pray with her and help her in other ways. Her attitude was remarkable even in her extreme pain. Her faith in our Great Physician was unwavering. She blessed everyone by her sweet spirit. Virginia Hamlin, a faithful servant of the Lord, will be missed by all who knew her though we know full well that she is now in the presence of our blessed Redeemer having earned her rest in the Lord.
