Watt Matt Asher, 90, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at his home. He was born on November 13, 1923, the son of Abige Asher and Nancy Jane (Fields) Moore.
Watt served in the US Army during WWII as a medic. He was employed at Percy Jones Hospital as a nurse, HB Sherman Company and then at Hydreco for over 30 years until retiring.
Watt is survived by his Wife of 21 years: Wilma Agnes (Huffman) Asher of Battle Creek, MI; Daughters: Coleen Katheryn (Mike) Parker of Bellevue, MI and Robin Nichole (Ed) Bolz of Battle Creek, MI; Son: Greg (Linda) Asher of Houston, TX; 15 Grandchildren & 13 Great Grandchildren; Brothers: Steve (Lil) Asher of Battle Creek, MI, Rex Asher of Battle Creek, MI and Charles Asher of Dowling, MI; Step-Children: Jack Ortiz of Battle Creek, MI, Joe Ortiz of TN and Janice Zanette of Lansing, MI; He was preceded in death by his Parents; his Son: Larry Asher; 5 Brothers and First Wife: Ruby Asher.
Watt enjoyed golf and loved music. He was a musician for over 58 years and played in many local bands. He loved his family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Saturday September 6, 2014 from 10 AM to 11 AM
