Judith Ann (Patterson) Pope, 76, of Battle Creek, MI, died at her home after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. She was born April 24, 1936 the son of George R. and Amanda Marie (Waring) Patterson.

Judy graduated from Lakeview High School in June of 1954, and then attended Argubright Business College. She married Charles R. Pope on April 13th, 1957 and they were married for 49 years.

She worked for Civil Defense for 5 years in the late 1950's and returned to Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service in the late 1970's which she retired from in 1998 after 25 years of service.

Judy enjoyed volunteer work. She helped with the Special Olympics thru her career in Civil Service and also performed volunteer work at Community Hospital and BCHS.

The family spent 13 summers in Saugatuck. Her husband Bob was an avid fisherman, and the rest of the family loved spending time at the beach, and of course shopping.

Preceded in death was husband Charles R. Pope, and parents George and Marie Patterson. Surviving is her brother Thomas (Hanna) Patterson of Traverse City, daughter Tamara M. Inderlied, Granddaughter Amanda M. Little, and Great Granddaughter Aurora B. Allen all of Battle Creek. Son Charles R. (Marcella) Pope Jr. (USAF SMSgt. Retired) grandchildren Madalyn, Johanna, Charles R. III and Vivianna, all of Woodland, California.
In accordance with Judith’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will gather for a celebration of Judy's life at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice.
