Kathy Lynn (Carrel) Ward, 54, of Battle Creek, MI, went to be her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 30, 2012 at her home. She was born December 4, 1957 the daughter of Herbert L. Mann and Madeline L. (Wood) Carrel, later adopted by into the family of Kenneth E. Carrel.
Kathy was a 1975 graduate of Marymount High School in London, England. She was employed at Hudson's, Battle Creek Professional Bureau, Lam-Fab and Quality Industrial Services where she served in the offices and human resource departments.
Kathy leaves behind her devoted Husband: Richard C. Ward; Daughter: Chelsae E. Ward; Mother: Madeline Carrel; Sister: Janice (Gary) Borden; Brothers: Justin (Alice) Carrel, Terry (Wendy) Mann and J.R. (Bonnie) Carrel; Sister-in-Law: Nancy M. Carrel; 8 loved Nieces and Nephews; Special Friends: Laura Pustinger, Julie Awkerman, Sue Ulbrich and Marti Wiesman. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents; Fathers: Herbert Mann, Kenneth Carrel and much loved Great Niece: Allison Daugherty.
She was a member of First Wesleyan Church where she helped with the Student Ministries and the Purity Retreat. She also was the past chair person with Relay for Life that she participated in for several years.
Kathy loved being a wife, mother, sister and friend. She enjoyed being in loving service to God, her husband, daughter, family and friends. She wanted Jesus to look really good to those that had been around her. She enjoyed being at home, the beach and Camp Barakel.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Monday, December 3, 2012, 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at the First Wesleyan Church, 14425 S. Helmer Road on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 2 PM.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Relay for Life, Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Unit or the First Wesleyan Church Student Ministries.
