from Aunt Mary: To Rick, Steve, and Theresa

I am thinking of each of you this morning. I won't say I know how you feel because I don't. I cannot imagine the depth of your grief at loosing both parents so close together. My sympathies to each of you. I am sending you hugs and all my love. If you need someone to listen I am here for you. Your dad loved his kids. He has done so many things to help you even though he was on a very limited income. I hope you can focus on good memories and forgive my brother for his shortcomings. Your dad was a joy. He was generous with his love and time. A trip to Horrocks with him was an event. We enjoyed sampling cheeses, choosing produce and watching him eat a double dip ice cream oh my. Like a child I had to remind him to use his napkin. So many memories of the Battle Creek Balloons. He loved them and was fun to share those memories with him. How appropriate that he was enjoying the balloons from heaven. I plan to volunteer to place flags on graves as a tribute to him and hope someone will continue what he started. I was thrilled to order roses from Horrocks. I know they are beautiful because your dad and I brought home free ones from there. We were suppose to take maybe one but, of course Dick helped himself to a bouquet.
