Obituary for Dean H. Dixon

Dean H. Dixon, age 49, of Battle Creek, MI passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born May 11, 1964 in Euclid, OH the son of Forest & Kay (Ternya) Dixon. Dean attended Lake Superior State where he played hockey for 4 years and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology. For 2 years he was the team Captain and Most Valuable Player. He was the only individual from Ohio to play in the Jr. Olympics. Dean played for the Jr.’s on the Minnesota Austin Mavericks and the North Carolina Minors. He was drafted and played professional hockey in Europe. After many years of being in sales he started a youth hockey program in Lansing called the Lansing Capitals and AAA Midget Minors. For the last 6 years he was an NHL agent for the Sports Corporation. He enjoyed being a mentor and coached for 20 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa, of 24 years; step-daughter, Leah (Steve) Bourdo; daughter, Cierra Dixon; son, Grant Dixon; grandchildren, Kennedy & Harper Bourdo; parents, Forest & Kay Dixon; brother, Denny Dixon; sister, Debbie Dixon; nieces, Denise (Tom) Zovko, Dawn (Cory) Bouziane; nephews, Denny Dixon and Deano Connerton.
